Pom Pom Rug

This one definitely IS NOT a few hour project, its fun but its a few day project for sure. This took us   3 days, well a few hours of pom pom making a day
Although its easy enough that both myself and my 10 year old daughter made the pom poms together and she thought it was great.

Directions:

1. Make the pom poms (this takes a ton of yarn) - I wrapped the yarn around my cell phone about 75 times depending on the yarn I was using at the time, tied the wrapped yarn in the middle and cut the ends making sure that I left about 5 inches of yarn at each end so I had something to tie it with.
We used about 250 pom poms and the fabric we used was about 4 ft x 3ft

 

2. Cut the cloth size you want for the underlay of it, (My daughter picked a light blue, and we used a sheet, that way we got to make it the size we wanted) You can use the rug underlay stuff too, I just kept forgetting to go pick it up at the store and my daughter really wanted to put it all together lastnight
3. Gather all the pom poms together and attach them to the sheet (I cut little slits in the fabric put the longer string on the poms poms threw it, and tied them on the back

 



4. Cut all the extra string at the back, and viola all done!!!

 

As long as this project took its still a pretty cool idea!! Now she's trying to talk me into adding more to it and doing all her floor in this (Her theory is - well we have to re-do the floors anyways so we can do it in this)
